I have some skin concerns, will the makeup cover well and match my skin tone?

How much time is needed to get me ready?
For Seema’s signature Bollywood Bride please allow 3+ hours to ensure perfect makeup application, hairstyling, and full dressing details and services to be performed.
For Seema’s signature Hollywood Bride allow 2.5 hours to complete the look.
To avoid any unnecessary stress please allow extra time to have your getting ready photographs staged and to get to your ceremony/event on time. Seema blocks out a large window of time to ensure each of her clients/brides is very well cared for.
Will my makeup last for the day?
Seema has tried and true products in her arsenal to ensure your look will last well into the wee hours of your celebration. High quality professional products as well as proper steps are taken to keep you looking your absolute best. A touch up kit with customized lip color, blotting sheets, and a couple of items for small situations should they arise. Of course, it is very important to remember to please avoid contact with your face throughout the course of the day.(ie hugging relatives cheek to cheek, patting inevitable tears away gently, etc). Once your lipcolor has been applied please try to eat small bites with a knife and fork and drink using a straw to ensure your makeup remains undisturbed.
Do you travel or do destination weddings?
Yes, absolutely. Seema will go where ever you are, to keep you looking stunning for your most important day(s)! Please inquire for details.
Do you have trials or consultations?
Keeping the lines of communication open is very important to Seema. She is always available for initial meetings to discuss all your important details. You may reach her, via email, text and phone with your questions and she will respond as quickly as possible, usually within 24 hours or less. The Makeup Rehearsal session (aka trial) is where we can discuss your preferences for makeup and hairstyles on your wedding day and finalize your makeup look with the application! Notes will be taken and reference pictures as well to lock down the look. Hair trials are also available, please inquire for rates.
Tips for when you meet with Seema?
Visuals are a fantastic way to get your image of your final look realized. As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words! Collect magazine pictures of makeup and hair styles you like. Consider what calls out to you aesthetically and we can use that to find your best look. Also pictures of yourself with a full face of makeup would be helpful for me to see your comfort level with makeup.
For the Makeup Rehearsal Session:
Please wear a light colored top (preferably in a tone close to the color of your outfit) Avoid black as it can alter the appearance of your final look. Freshly cleansed skin with no makeup is preferred, especially avoid waterproof eyeliner and mascara. This way we have the cleanest canvas to start with. Please try all of your jewelry on prior to purchase to make sure no repairs or additional work is required.Bring your bridal outfits and jewelry with you to your consultations or dress rehearsal Please ensure all zippers and buttons on your outfits are working and intact. One on one consultations work best, but feel free to bring a second opinion along. Seema’s studio can accommodate one extra family member or friend.
I am ready to book my wedding day, what happens next?
In order to lock in your wedding/event date(s) please contact Seema as soon as you are confident you would like to move forward. It is common for Seema to book 1-2 years in advance for popular dates. An initial meeting may take place in person or via telephone to go over a contract ( may be shared online too). A retainer of 50% of the total balance is paid at the time of booking. This maybe done via email transfer online or in person. The balance is due 2 weeks before your event date.
What should I do the day of my wedding/event?
Have a light and healthy meal before we begin.
Please be wearing your wedding outfit’s top (ie, saree blouse or lengha shirt)
Have your hair blown out straight after washing it the night before, with no product in it.
Have a quiet area set up with good natural lighting ( but not necessary always, Seema brings lighting).
Have a low backed chair and a table set up with a cleared off surface beside you near an electrical outlet to plug in hair tools. Finally, have all your jewelry and accessories laid out nearby for access after your hair and makeup is completed.
Do you have any tested “beauty tips” to help me look my best and feel great?
Avoid high fat, high salty foods, and alcoholic beverages the days leading up to your event.
Water retention may cause puffiness and swelling.
Try to drink plenty of water (recommended 1/2 oz water per pound of weight) and get at least 30 mins of exercise a day – this will reduce stress and improve your general sense of well being.
Get as much sleep as possible the night before your event, this will visibly improve your skin tone and keep your mood in check.
If your hair is dry, get a deep conditioning hair treatment at least 7 days before your events (if any closer to the date it may in fact weigh your hair down).
Have any facials or skin treatments at least 14 days before your event to avoid any residual skin trauma or redness.
Have all hair cuts and hair color treatments 30 days before your event that way if it does not turn out exactly as planned, there is time to correct it.
