Born as Bhanurekha Ganeshan in Madras India. She is one of Bollywood’s most enigmatic faces. Rekha ruled the Bollywood film industry during the 70’s and 80’s. Films like Umrao Jaan, Silsila, and Muqaddar ka Sikander are just a few of her biggest hits. As a huge fan of her beauty, and her work. I have even placed a portrait of her in my makeup studio. A further tribute … I did a Youtube makeup tutorial on one of her most popular makeup looks. Rekha is a celebrity who prefers to do her own makeup, even for her bigger budget films. She is most known for her iconic red lips! Her gorgeous bone structure doesn’t require much in the way of contouring. Oh! but those mesmerizing eyes! She always focusses her makeup style to showcase those gorgeous peepers. Bollywood has a huge influence on us, Desi folks (aka South Asians) and non-Desis (Pronounced Day-sees). So as a makeup artist and a Bollywood fan, I definitely wanted to try out one of the most famous Star’s, famous looks.
